Romans 5:1-5 "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom we also have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also; knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given to us."
I read recently about the bristlecone pine tree. These are some of the oldest trees on the earth. One has been dated to be about 5,000 years old!! They live in the Rocky Mountains, at average elevations of between 10,000 to 11,000 feet. They live in harsh conditions - extreme cold temperature, powerful winds, very little rain, and thin air.
The hard conditions are actually the reason they live so long! God sometimes uses the same things to strengthen us.
If adversity and trouble turn our lives to God, they are good things! We learn to depend on Him for our strength.
God may use difficulties to help develop us into better people for Him.
